If you want to travel around and go down interesting roads and plan a COOL and CIRCUITOUS route. Many Honda vehicles come with the Honda Navigation System built-in to the dashboard. Mount your cell phone and try one of the programs I mentioned above it will be infinitely more enjoyable and satisfying Honda knew it was terrible and that's why they gave us android auto and apple carplay Stop trying to make the Honda Gold navigation system more than it was ever meant to be The apps are relatively cheap and they will give you many more miles of smiles per dollar spent than anything else If you want to travel around and go down interesting roads and plan a COOL and CIRCUITOUS route. You can waste a lot of hours trying to make the Honda Gold do anything but get you from point A to point B If I had an iPhone I would have to use CALIMOTO Of course I have a RAM mount on the left handlebar and I use a waterproof vibration damping cell phone 100% of the time That's the thing that makes me the most angry Since they made the dashboard of our Gold Wing look like in accord why would the navigation system work the same way That's garbage and that's the biggest problem to meīy the way every single Honda automobile allows you to send an address to the navigation system from the Bluetooth connection on your On my Hyundai palisade even though the maps are updated until I do that the greatest thing is that there is an app on my phone that allows me to look up an address and my Bluetooth send it to them that's the most ridiculous thing about the Honda Gold platform is that you can't look up an address on your phone and your phone is already attached to the bike with Bluetooth and you can't send that address to the mapping system you have to do it with the USB stick as if it were 1993 It's fun to be able to look at roads because I live in Florida were not many roads have been updated where I ride on my Gold Wingīut the truth is the navigation platform is never going to be that good Yes if you're an adventure writer who is off the grid and doesn't have cell phone coverage you have to have another plan than just downloading Google maps which you can do They are all garbage compared to Google maps all over the world Having the screen set on music information is almost more informative to me.īecause of Google maps there is absolutely no money providing platforms with updates that get downloaded on your phone Once I got my Zumo installed, I have never used the bike's GPS for anything other than a real time "you are here" map. I had to find them totally by memory and almost missed their departure time. Then next morning, I tried to put in the other motel to meet up with them to head over to the even and the address did not exist. I have no idea where it was taking me, but it was not the correct location. I got bloody lucky that I found my motel only because the bike took me near it and I recognized pictures even tough the route had another 10 miles to go with an "address entry". I did not have time to hook up my Zumo prior so the bike GPS was all I had to find places. I had a different motel than others in my chapter and rode with them to theirs before heading to mine. The only time I really tried to use the GPS on my 2018 was when it was still new and I was out of town for a GWRRA Chapter event. When the next update comes out, I will load it, but I am not anxious for it.
